Destiny Marie Anderson

Miss Destiny Marie Anderson, age 16, a lifetime resident of Lake Alfred, went home to be with the Lord on her 16th birthday, September 16, 2026, surrounded by her family, after a courageous Brain Tumer battle. Destiny was born in Tampa, Florida on Thursday, September 16, 2010, to Richard Glenn and Erica Marie (Williams) Anderson, Jr. She attended Discovery High School in Lake Alfred where she sang in the chorus. Destiny attended with her brothers, “The Blend,” a teenage worship group at Free Life Chapel Church in Lakeland where she was also a member. She liked making crafts, making video anime, doing hair & make up, playing video games with her brothers and especially loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her paternal & maternal great grandparents; uncle – Shane Anderson and cousin – Lowen Shane Hunt. Destiny is survived by her loving & devoted family, mom & dad – Erica and Rich Anderson, Jr.; 3 brothers – Ethan Anderson, Gavin Anderson & Brantley Anderson; paternal grandparents – Richard & Darlene Anderson, Sr.; maternal grandparents – Steve & Teresa Williams; 3 aunts – Sabrina Zelko, Jessica Williams & Mariah Williams; uncle – Michael (Rebecca) Svhela; cousins – Chelcye, Payton, Isaac, Johnny, Noah, Luka & Haylee. A celebration of Destiny’s life will be held 5pm Thursday, September 24th. Visitation will begin 4pm at Kersey Funeral Home. A reception will follow at The Salvation Army Fellowship Hall, 1898 US-Hwy 17, Winter Haven. Immediately following the reception, a Lantern release on Lake Swoope at sunset to remember Destiny will be held.
