Edna Mae Willis

Mrs. Edna Mae Willis, age 90, a resident of Winter Haven, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Advent Health Heart of Florida Hospital in Haines City surrounded by family. Mrs. Willis was born April 6, 1936, in Gordon, Alabama to John Thomas “JT” and Lillie Mae (Prevatt) Hart. She was a Polk County resident since the 1940’s, coming from Alabama and graduated from Auburndale High School Class of 1954. Mrs. Willis and her late husband Herman were the Owners of the Auburndale Badcock Furniture Store. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, socializing and loved to spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – Herman Sammy Willis in 1982; son – Sammy Willis in 2004 and brother – EJ Hart. Edna is survived by her loving & devoted family, 2 sons – Ronnie Willis & Scott (Joel) Willis; 2 daughters – Diane Elizabeth Simmons & Terri (Darryl) Koon; brother – Eddie (Cookie) Hart; 9 grandchildren – Craig, Brandy (Clint), Dillon (Whitney), Ashley (Jada), Austin (Cassie), Mike (Sue), Jennifer (Reed), Caleb (Hannah) & Cole (Tori); 10 great grandchildren – Kennedy, Carly, Caity, Wyatt, Ethan, Rhema, Sage, Noah, Asher, Silas & Matt. Funeral services will be held 11am Monday, September 21st at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow Auburndale Memorial Park.
