Elsa Fernandez Amaya

Ms. Elsa Fernandez Amaya, age 79, a resident of Auburndale, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center surrounded by family. Elsa was born October 26, 1946, in Bogota, Columbia to Vicente and Ines (Amaya) Fernandez. She was an Auburndale resident since 2015 and a retired Retail Salesperson. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Haines City and a member of Helping Hands. Elsa volunteered for the American Red Cross in the United States & Columbia, volunteered as a Temple Worker and the Temple Food Canary. Elsa enjoyed crocheting, crafts, swimming, flower arranging and loved to spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother – Rafael Fernandez. Elsa is survived by her loving & devoted family, son – Miller (Yasmin) Fernandez; brother – Diego (Ligia) Fernandez; 3 sisters – Clara Fernandez, Irma Annoual & Esperanza Fernandez; 5 grandchildren – Hans, Kayleigh, Keassy, Keammy & Kiara. Interment will be 2:30pm Tuesday, June 23rd at Auburndale Memorial Park.
