Gene Lentz

Mr. Gene Lentz, age 96, a resident of Winter Haven, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale surrounded by family. Mr. Lentz was born January 22, 1930, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Elmer and Genevieve (Pachoud) Lentz. Gene was a Polk County resident since the 1970’s, coming from Ft. Lauderdale. He was a retired Mining Engineer and a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. Gene enjoyed big band music, playing golf, fishing and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Gene is survived by 4 daughters – Sonia Meza-Leon, Sam Sutton, Toni (James) Wade and Ginger Botner; ex-wife & caregiver – Mary Helen Lentz; 2 grandchildren – Logan (Hui Wen Chen) Wade and Brittany (Kyle) Scholler; 3 great grandchildren – Taison, Phoebe & Easton. There are no services scheduled at this time for Mr. Lentz.
