Janet Juanita Martin

Mrs. Janet Juanita "Nita" Martin, age 70, a resident of Auburndale, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center surrounded by family. Mrs. Martin was born October 8, 1955, in Eagle Lake, Florida to Bobby and Evelyn Katherine (Fox) Mitchem. Janet graduated from Winter Haven High School Class of 1973. She was a homemaker, worked briefly as a CNA and a lifetime resident of Polk County. Janet enjoyed the computer, making photo albums, making slide shows and loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; son – David Ola; daughter – Billie Darlene Moran Dyal and 2 brothers – Bobby Mitchem & Robert McKelvey. Janet is survived by her loving family, husband of 21 years Hughie Martin; son – Aaron Moran and wife Megan; daughter – Lyn Ross and husband Chad Gilman; 2 sisters – Katherine Daniels & Debbie Pullins; stepson – Brian Martin and wife Debbie; stepdaughter – Donna Edwards and husband Todd; 6 grandchildren – Cory, Austin, Daniel, Tinley, Kelsey (Logan) & Brendon (Stephanie); 4 great grandchildren – Brooke, Aiden, Mason & Avery; 3 step grandchildren – Christopher, Bradley & Brianna. There are no services scheduled for Janet at this time.
