Martha Ara Hayes

Mrs. Martha Ara Hayes, age 89, a resident of Auburndale passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Oak Haven Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. Mrs. Hayes was born January 18, 1937, in Lake Alfred, Florida to Felton Colbert and Elsie Maggie (Walls) Hayes. She was a lifetime Polk County resident, a retired Insurance Agent and past attendee of Eastside Baptist Church in Auburndale. Martha enjoyed gardening, floral arranging, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister – Dorothy Marie Griffin. Martha is survived by her loving family, daughter – Marsha (Milton) Pollard; 2 sons – Timothy Sheffield & Jeffrey (Anna) Sheffield; sister – Evelyn L. Hayes-Taylor; 6 grandchildren – Dustin Lane, Kristin Goldsberry, Michael Sheffield, Victoria Sheffield, Samantha Trimm & Kimberly Sheffield; 3 great grandchildren – Haley, Avery & Colton; 1 great great grandson – Beauden and many nieces, nephews & cousins. There are no services scheduled for Mrs. Hayes at this time.
