Robert Kenneth Boatfield

Robert Kenneth Boatfield, born on June 10, 1951 in Batavia, NY, passed away peacefully at Good Shepherd's Hospice on August 24, 2026.  He was the beloved son of the late James and Mildred Boatfield, infant son, and now is reunited with them, as well as his sisters Barbara Lambert , Bonnie Lorenze and beloved grandson Jacob Alexander.

Robert was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who left an indelible mark on everyone he met.  He is survived by his sons Robert Kenneth Jr (Kenny) and Wesley James and wife Debbie.  He was a proud grandfather to Zachary and Nicholas and cherished his grandaughters Hailie and Mckenzie.  His great grandsons, Grayson, Kevin and Waylon, were his joy.  Robert also leaves behind his sisters Joanne Peters, Mildred Bacher and brother James Boatfield as well as several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He graduated from Elba High School, in Elba NY. Robert pursued higher education at Genesee College, where he earned a degree in Accounting. He embarked on a remarkable career that began in room service on the 2nd day of opening Walt Disney World.  With determination and skill, he rose through the ranks to become a supervisor in cash control, eventually retiring after 25 fulfilling years.  After Disney World he opened a hand- made craft gift store called "The Country Emporium" in Auburndale, FL for many years.  

Robert was a man of many passions.  He found joy in arts and crafts, gardening, playing the piano and immersing himself in the melodies of old music. His favorite song was "Que Sera Sera" by Doris Day.  Known for his entertaining persona, Robert was always ready with a joke and cherished time spent with family.  He had a deep love for genealogy and was an avid fan of classic television shows like "I Love Lucy", "Bonanza", and "Ozzie and Harriett"  Even in his last moments he would tell the nurses he was allergic to pain and would break out in "screams" :) 

A celebration of Roberts life will be held at 10:00 am on September 19, 2026 at Auburndale Memorial Cemetery.  Robert's life was a testament to love, laughter, and the joy of family.  He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate to know him.
