Mr. Sean Conley Hunter, age 55, a resident of Auburndale, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at his home surrounded by family. Mr. Hunter was born April 3, 1970, in Bedford, Ohio to Kenneth Ray and Mary Ruth (Whaley) Hunter, Sr. He was a resident of Polk County since the 1970’s, coming from Ohio. Sean was an Accountant in the Construction Industry. After being diagnosed with cancer in November 2024, Sean fought with incredible strength and determination until his very last moment. His courage and resilience left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He touched the lives of everyone he met. To Sean, friends were never just friends; they were family. He was a giver in every sense, always ready to help anyone, even complete strangers, without ever asking for anything in return. Sean will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering strength, and an unmistakable sense of humor. If he wasn’t picking on you, you probably wondered why – because that was his way of showing love. He was one of the smartest men anyone could know and as a man would say, there was no winning an argument with Sean – he was always right. Sean’s memory will live on in our hearts forever. A member of the Winter Haven Moose Lodge, member of USA Scout Ball and was Dart Tournament Director. He enjoyed being a Gator fan, playing poker, playing darts, fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father; paternal & maternal grandparents and stepfather – Wayne Edbrup. Sean is survived by his loving & devoted family, wife of 25 years – Dina Hunter; 3 sons – Nicholas (Georgina) Hunter, Cailean (Sydney) O’Neal and Noah Williams; daughter – Adrianna (Logan) O’Neal; 2 brothers – Kenneth (Lauren) Hunter, Jr. and Jayme Hunter; 2 sisters – Jessica Hunter and Jodi (Ryan) Pharo; mother – Mary Ruth Ebdrup; stepmother – Jackie Fleck Hunter; caregiver/mother in law & father in law – Debria & Charles White; father in law & mother in law – Richard & Sherry Gocklin; 6 grandchildren – Kendall, Camden, Knoxton, Wrenleigh, Bailor and Kash; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. A celebration of Sean’s life will be held 11am Monday, March 30th at Kersey Funeral Home with a gathering beginning at 10am at the funeral home. In memory of Sean, please wear or bring something purple. Everyone is invited to the Winter Haven Moose Lodge for lunch at 1pm.
