Sulma Alvez

Sulma Alvez, born on March 19, 1959, in the Bronx, New York, passed away on September 26, 2026.

Sulma lived a life marked by warmth, devotion, and a caring spirit that touched those around her. A graduate of Alcides Figueroa High School, Class of 1977, she carried herself with the strength and determination that would continue to guide her throughout her life. She worked as a factory operator at General Electric for five years, bringing dedication and commitment to her work.

She also found joy in the gifts of her own hands. Sulma was talented in crafting and decorating, and she took pride in creating beauty in the spaces and things around her. Those who knew her will remember her as a jovial and affectionate woman whose presence brought comfort and happiness. She was a loving grandmother to her grandchildren, and her care for them was a lasting expression of her generous heart. She was deeply loved by God.

Above all, Sulma cherished her family. She is survived by her husband, Luis Garcia; her children, Kenneth Pereira and Sulerys Pereira; and her grandchildren, Gabriel Medina, Kenneth N. Pereira, Brian Medina, E. Yamil Pereira, and E. Yadiel Pereira. In their lives, her love, guidance, and tenderness will continue to be felt.

Sulma Alvez will be remembered with love for her affectionate nature, her joyful spirit, and the many ways she made life brighter for her family. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
