Rory Lynne Lane

Rory Lynne (Dedmon) Lane, 77, of Orting, Washington, went to be with the Lord on July 1, 2026.

Rory was born on February 9, 1949, in Seattle, Washington, to Winford Dedmon and Maxine Dedmon. She was the oldest of five siblings.

Rory attended Kent-Meridian High School in Kent, Washington, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Rick Lane. Together they raised three children:

Erin, Teresa, and Mark.

As her children grew up, Rory was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. She kept an immaculate home and lovingly attended to her family's everyday needs, always putting those she loved first.

Rory cherished spending time with family and enjoyed many outdoor adventures, including attending hydroplane races, camping, fishing, boating, and houseboat vacations. She also looked forward to gathering with her ladies Bunco Club, creating friendships and memories that lasted for years.

Following in her father's footsteps, Rory was an accomplished bowler and participated in numerous bowling leagues throughout her life. Like her mother, Maxine, she loved shopping and had a passion for collecting vintage dolls, shoes and other unique treasures. She especially enjoyed finding the perfect birthday or holiday gift for her loved ones, putting thought, time and care into every present she gave.

Rory later began a career with The Boeing Company, working as a factory clerk in Auburn, Washington. She retired in 2017 after 27 years of dedicated service.

Rory is survived by her children, Erin Lane (Tony Stevens) of Bonney Lake, Washington; Teresa (Kurt) Williams of Sumner, Washington and Mark Lane of Lake Tapps, Washington. She is also survived by her grandsons, Layne Stevens and Kohl Williams; her brother, Randy (Tami) Dedmon of Bonney Lake, Washington; her sisters, Ronda Gann of Yelm, Washington, and Robin Wood of Buckley, Washington; Stepfather Norman Huffman of Bonney Lake, Washington and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maxine Huffman and Winford Dedmon; her grandmother, Sylvia Smith; her brother, Ronald Burrer; her brother, Matt Dedmon and her brother-in-law, Bob Gann.

Rory will be remembered as a fun-loving mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. She had a quick wit, a wonderful sense of humor and the most beautiful blue eyes that could light up a room. She brought joy to those around her and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we will always remember Rory with love, laughter and the beautiful smile she so generously shared with everyone around her.
