Thomas Fredrick King

March 28, 1968 — August 25, 2025

Thomas Fredrick King, a gentle soul with a boundless love for music, animals, and the simple joys of life, has passed away. Known for his eclectic taste in tunes—from classical symphonies to rock ballads—and his deep compassion for every creature great and small, Thomas brought warmth and harmony to those around him.

A devoted collector of Matchbox cars, each tiny vehicle was a cherished piece of nostalgia and wonder. His collection, like his spirit, was vibrant and full of stories.

Thomas will be remembered for his kind heart, his infectious curiosity, and the way he made the world feel just a little more magical. His legacy lives on in every melody played, every paw print in the garden, and every miniature car lined up with care.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Francis and Rita Marie (Tremblay) King; paternal grandparents William J and Esther (Moylan) King; maternal grandparents George and Mae Tremblay; godparents Janet and David Wright; and numerous beloved aunts and uncles.

Thomas proudly served in the United States Navy from 1987 to 2001, including during the Gulf War. After his service, he settled in the Tacoma area, drawn there by his first wife's roots.

He is survived by his sisters Cynthia (Dan) Dirske of Holland, Michigan, and his twin sister Tammy King of Lansing, Michigan; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his children: Aaron King and Chelsea Early of Tacoma, Washington; Kci Ramsey and Samantha Bockus of Centralia, Washington.

Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Thomas graduated from St. Hedwig High School in 1986. His life was a testament to kindness, curiosity, and quiet strength.

He will be deeply missed.
