Verne Alfred Faulkner, born November 26, 1926, in Bellingham, Washington, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, in Puyallup, Washington, just shy of his 99th birthday.
As a young man, Verne proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II, spending time stationed in Japan. After his service, he enjoyed a lengthy career at Boeing, where he worked for many years until his retirement. Throughout his life, he also held a variety of other occupations, including truck driving and real estate, meticulously dedicated to his pursuits. Hunting, hiking and traveling by motorhome across the U.S to explore national parks brought him joy.
Verne was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathleen Faye Faulkner (born August 24, 1926; died January 6 2020); his son, Wayne Allen Faulkner, who passed away on July 1, 2025; as well as his brother and four sisters.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary Kay Faulkner and Lori Ann DeVore, along with five grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. All will remember him for his strength, humor, and enduring love for family.
A memorial service honoring Verne’s life will be held at the National Cemetery in Covington, Washington, on September 22, 2025, at 11 a.m.
