Tetiana Smyrnova

Feb 9, 1946 — Jun 14, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Tetiana Smyrnova, a beloved mother, devoted friend, and resilient soul, who left us peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 14, 2026, in Las Vegas. Born on February 9, 1946, in Kaunas, Lithuania, Tetiana’s life was a testament to unwavering strength, boundless generosity, and a heart open to love and kindness.

Tetiana’s journey was one shaped by courage and determination. After moving to Kyiv, Ukraine, she built a life marked by hard work and sacrifice. She began her career as a garment maker in a clothing factory, a testament to her skill and dedication. Later, she embraced the role of payroll accountant at an electronics manufacturing plant, balancing precision and care with every task. Even after retirement, her spirit of service endured as she took on a part-time job as a concierge.

One of Tetiana’s proudest accomplishments was the purchase of their very first home in Kyiv in 1978—a remarkable achievement for a single mother who had juggled multiple jobs and personal sacrifices. This home became a sanctuary, representing her tireless commitment to providing stability and warmth for her family.

In June 2022, tragedy forced Tetiana to leave behind the home she loved, fleeing the horrors of war in Kyiv with only two suitcases. Her journey to safety was arduous, traveling by car, bus, and train until she reached Poland. There, her devoted son, Volodymyr Smyrnov, met her and brought her safely to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she spent her final years surrounded by family, including her son-in-law, Troy Dangerfield.

Tetiana will be remembered not only for the tangible accomplishments in her life but also for the extraordinary warmth and love she bestowed on everyone around her. She had an incredible gift for making people feel truly special—always finding time for family and friends regardless of her own struggles or limited means. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she was always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Her passions were as vibrant as her spirit. Tetiana loved sewing and cooking, creating beautiful garments for her friends and family, especially for special occasions, and was the trusted person they turned to when clothes needed mending. Cooking was another art she cherished, as she never rushed a meal, insisting on infusing every dish with care and love. These crafts were more than hobbies—they were expressions of her affection and care.

Those who knew Tetiana remember fondly the magical moments they shared with her. One treasured memory, held close by her family, recalls when at the age of five, her child was taken by Tetiana to see the Black Sea—a moment of laughter and discovery that embodied the deep bond and joy they shared.

Tetiana was predeceased by her father, Petr Smyrnov, her mother, Vera Smyrnova, and her brother, Volodymyr Smyrnov. She leaves behind her beloved son, Volodymyr Smyrnov, and son-in-law, Troy Dangerfield, who helped provide comfort and love during her final days.

As we remember Tetiana Smyrnova, we honor a woman whose strength never wavered through life’s harshest trials, whose generosity touched countless lives, and whose love was a guiding light to those fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy is one of kindness, resilience, and the simple yet profound power of a loving heart. Though she is no longer with us, the warmth she gave remains imprinted on our souls forever.
