Susie May Campbell

Susie Campbell, formerly Susie McDonald passed away on August 11, 2026, age 96.

She was the seventh child born to Samuel and Maudie Mae Clouse in Hugo Oklahoma on April 14, 1930. She married Marvin W. McDonald on July 9,1946 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. They moved to Oregon in 1951, living in Myrtle Creek and Drain before moving to Eugene.

Together they raised a family of four children, Marvin “Glen”, Samuel David “Dave”, Regina Lynn and Angela Susan “Angie.” Marvin and Susie were married for over 50 years until Marvin’s death in 1997. Susie remarried a close friend and widower Robert Lee “Bob” Campbell the following year. Bob and Susie shared a life of ministry in Port Hadlock, WA and Yuma, Arizona until Bob’s passing in 2014.

Susie always loved music, she sang and taught herself how to play piano to accompany her husband Marvin who would lead the singing at church. Susie enjoyed a close family life and actively volunteered in church activities at Riviera Baptist Church and Fairfield Baptist Church in Eugene. Susie also had a paying job, working at J.C.Penney’s from 1968 until her retirement in 1985. She retired one month after Marvin and together they enjoyed retirement travelling, fishing, making music and spending time with family and friends. She continued life with Bob, making sure theirs was a life for their Savior, shared abundantly with family and friends. She continued living her life of faith and love, eventually moving into the Solvang retirement community in Eugene in 2017 where she lived until her passing.

Susie was predeceased by husbands Marvin McDonald and Robert Lee Campell, son Dave McDonald and daughter-in-law Sue McDonald. She is survived by her youngest sister Dorothy Payton of Mountainburg, Arkansas. She is survived by her children, son Marvin “Glen” McDonald, daughters Regina and Angie and their respective husbands Steve Walters and Dwight Denster. Susie will be remembered with love forever by her eight grandchildren Greg McDonald, Tonya Kerns, Heather Kunch, Cyndi Leach, Myndi Atwood, Samuel Brown, Nate Brown and Adrienne Brown and their respective families. In addition to her 8 grandchildren, Susie was additionally blessed with 20 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and counting! into the next generation. She will also be remembered with love by Bob’s children Michelle Waite, Marc Campbell and Carol Campbell and their families. Susie’s numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, their families and friends will miss Susie but keep her memory in their hearts. She has finally gone home.
