Bonifacio Eliseo Valenzuela "Bones"

Jun 5, 1956 — Jul 24, 2026

Bonifacio Eliseo Valenzuela, affectionately known to family and friends as "Bones," was born on June 5, 1956, in Tempe, Arizona, to Eusebio and Maria Valenzuela. He entered into the presence of the Lord on July 24, 2026, in Mesa, Arizona, surrounded by the love of his family.

Bones is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Lisa Gutierrez; his sons, Jesus Matus (JB), Elijah Valenzuela, and Bonifacio Uriah Valenzuela; his daughters, Stephanie Gutierrez and Jennifer Gonzalez; 10 cherished grandchildren; and one beloved great-granddaughter. He also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ who will forever treasure his memory.

Bones was a true warrior. He courageously battled and survived cancer three different times, demonstrating remarkable strength, resilience, and unwavering faith throughout his life.

A dedicated and hardworking man, Bones spent many years managing housekeeping departments at local hotels. Some of his children's favorite memories were going to work with him, where they witnessed firsthand his strong work ethic and the pride he took in providing for his family.

Above all else, Bones was an extraordinary husband, father, and grandfather. He was the family's trusted babysitter, dependable chauffeur, and the one everyone could always count on. He was selfless with his time, generous with his love, and always put his family before himself.

In 1984, Bones gave his life to the Lord, a decision that transformed his life forever. From that day forward, he faithfully served God and never looked back. His faith was evident in the way he loved others and served his church community, where he joyfully played the congas during worship.

Anyone who knew Bones knew he had an incredible sense of humor. He loved making people laugh and was famous for having absolutely no filter. His quick wit, playful personality, and unforgettable one-liners brought joy to everyone around him.

Bones also had a passion for low riders. He could often be found cruising through the Town of Guadalupe in his beloved ride, "Angel Baby," proudly representing the culture he loved.

He was an artist at heart who enjoyed singing, playing music, and expressing himself through creativity.

He had his own unique style—what his family lovingly called "low-key extra." Whether heading to church, a family gathering, or simply out for the day, his clothes had to be perfectly creased, and he was always ready for a photo opportunity.

Though our hearts are heavy with his passing, we celebrate a life well lived—a life marked by faith, laughter, perseverance, love, and service. Bones leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His love, wisdom, humor, and unwavering devotion to God and family will never be forgotten.
