In Loving Memory of David Anthony Perez

“Trouble”

March 31, 1952 – October 6, 2026

David Anthony Perez, affectionately known as “Trouble” to his family and friends, passed away on October 6, 2026, in Chandler, Arizona. Born on March 31, 1952, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Manuel A. Perez and Maria Louisa Monreal, David lived a life filled with faith, love, and a personality that was uniquely his own.

David was a faithful man whose devotion to his Catholic faith was an important part of his daily life. He could often be found reciting the Rosary several times a day, and you would be hard-pressed to find him without one of his many beloved Rosaries nearby. His faith brought him comfort and strength, and his devotion was a beautiful reflection of the person he was.

David enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved drinking Coke, listening to Elvis, enjoying good food, and especially savoring his favorite Sonora Enchiladas. He also enjoyed watching movies and was a collector of just about everything. David had a special way of finding joy in the things he loved and making memories with those around him.

But perhaps what made David most memorable was his nickname, “Trouble.” If you ever asked him what he was up to, you could count on his familiar response: he was “just causing trouble.” It was a fitting answer for a man whose humor and personality left a lasting impression on the people who knew and loved him. The name “Trouble” was more than a nickname; it was a cherished part of who he was, bringing smiles and laughter to those fortunate enough to share in his life.

David leaves behind his beloved sister, Patricia Santa Cruz; his nephew, Marcel Santa Cruz; his niece, Marissa Espinoza; and his precious Little Angels, who held a special place in his heart. He will be lovingly remembered for his unwavering faith, his unique sense of humor, his many collections, and the countless memories he leaves behind. Though he will be deeply missed, his loved ones can take comfort in knowing that his faith was always close to his heart.

As family and friends gather to remember David, they will celebrate a life that was unmistakably his own—a life filled with Rosaries, Elvis, Coke, favorite foods, and a little bit of trouble along the way.

May he rest in the loving arms of our Lord, and may Our Blessed Mother watch over him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
