June Clos Bahret passed away peacefully in her home in Queen Creek, Arizona, on August 19, 2026, at the grand age of 93. She leaves behind a remarkable legacy of family, professional accomplishment, music, friendship, and a lifelong love of animals.

June was born on June 16, 1933, in Brooklyn, New York, to Charles and Katherine Clos. She grew up with her brother, Charles, and from an early age developed the intelligence, curiosity, determination, and independence that would remain hallmarks of her life.

June was an accomplished woman whose education and professional career were particularly noteworthy for her generation. She earned a master’s degree in Statistics from Rutgers University and went on to build a successful career as a Quality Control Engineer, working for both Bell Laboratories and AT&T.

At a time when relatively few women pursued careers in engineering and technical fields, June distinguished herself through her knowledge and expertise. During her career, she presented a technical paper at an Annual Relay Conference, where she was recognized as the only woman presenting a paper at the conference. Her accomplishments reflected not only her exceptional analytical abilities, but also the determination and confidence with which she approached life.

On December 29, 1969, June married Raymond A. Bahret, beginning a marriage and partnership that would last nearly five decades. June and Ray made their home in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, before moving to Basking Ridge, New Jersey. Later, they began a new chapter together in Arizona.

Music was woven throughout June’s life and was one of the great joys she and Ray shared. June was a longtime member of Sweet Adelines, where her love of singing brought performances, lasting friendships, and many wonderful memories. She was also a remarkably versatile musician who played the piano, organ, drums, flute, and trombone.

Ray shared June’s passion for music. He sang and played the piano and organ, and together they filled their home with music. Their New Year’s Eve parties became a memorable tradition, with June and Ray often providing the entertainment themselves — June behind the drums and Ray at the organ. Their music brought family and friends together and reflected the joy they found in entertaining and simply having fun together.

June’s desire to make music never faded. Later in life, she added yet another instrument to her repertoire when she took up the ukulele. During their years in Arizona, June and Ray joined a local ukulele group, giving them another opportunity to make music together, meet people, and share something they had loved throughout their marriage.

June also had a lifelong love of animals, especially dogs. Over the years, she raised and cared for many dogs, each becoming a beloved member of the family. Her compassion for animals extended beyond her own pets, and she and Ray supported animal rescue efforts during their years in Arizona.

While June accomplished much professionally and pursued many interests, family remained at the heart of her life. She and Ray raised two children, Lorelei “Lori” Mote and Brian Bahret. Lori is married to Chris Mote and Brian is married to DeAnna Bahret.

June was a proud grandmother to Joseph Bahret and his wife, Adrienne; Katherine Graves and her husband, Michael; Amber, Charlie, Amaya, and Shawn Mote, and a loving great-grandmother to Kayleigh Graves, daughter of Katherine Graves.

June was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond A. Bahret, who passed away on May 4, 2018. Their marriage lasted more than 48 years and was filled with family, friends, service, laughter, and, perhaps most memorably, music.

June lived a life of wonderful contrasts. She was a statistician and manager who loved music, a woman with an analytical mind who could just as comfortably sit down at a piano or organ, pick up a flute or trombone, or take her place behind a drum set. She built a successful career in a field where women of her generation were uncommon, yet some of her happiest moments were found making music with Ray, singing with friends, caring for her dogs, and spending time with the family she loved.

Those who knew June will remember far more than her accomplishments. They will remember her intelligence and determination, her music, her love for animals, the friendships she treasured, and her devotion to her family. They will remember a home filled with music, New Year’s Eve celebrations with June on the drums and Ray at the organ, dogs that were always part of the family, and a woman who lived an extraordinary 93 years on her own terms.

June will be forever remembered for her determination, strength, and lively personality. She was fascinated by familial lineage, creative with her musical abilities alongside her husband, smarter than any other mathematician, and quick to crack a joke. Funeral Services

Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate June’s life on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Legacy Funeral Home, Chandler, Arizona.

Following the service, a short graveside memorial will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, where June will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Ray
