Beverly Cheryl "Cheri" Certain
Aug 19, 1954 — Aug 18, 2026
In Loving Memory of Beverly Cheryl "Cheri" Certain
Beverly Cheryl “Cheri” Certain, passed away at Chandler Regional Medical Center in Chandler, Arizona on August 18, 2026.
Cheri was born in Sacramento, California, on August 19, 1954, to Earl Harry Certain and Beverly LaVisa Certain (Stark). In 1960, the family moved to Aurora, Colorado, where Cheri grew up and attended school. Following high school, she attended Emily Griffith Technical College in Denver, where she earned her barber license.
She began her career as a barber in Evergreen, Colorado, before returning to Aurora to live and work. In 1994 Cheri relocated to Mesa, Arizona to be close to and care for her mother. She continued her work in the hair-cutting business until her retirement in 2017.
Cheri lived life with a compassionate heart and an independent spirit. She had a profound affinity for animals and was known for keeping a watchful, caring eye on many stray cats over the years. She loved watching football and remained a loyal Denver Broncos fan through every season. Among the highlights of her life was her proud, continuous membership in AA since 1989, and her love for the open road. After learning to ride a motorcycle, Cheri spent many memorable hours touring the beautiful landscapes of Arizona on her Harley-Davidson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Beverly, and her brother, James Certain.
Cheri is survived by her brother, Mark Certain, and his wife, Claudia; her nieces, Chelsy Certain and Tera Certain; and her nephews, Tiger Certain and Glenn Certain. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her extended family and a wide circle of friends whose lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers and to honor Cheri's lifelong love for animals, the family requests that memorial donations be made in her name to the Pinal County Animal Shelter, 1150 S. Eleven-Mile Corner Road, Casa Grande, AZ 85194.
