Gilbert Benny Vasquez

Gilbert B. Vasquez, age 63, passed away peacefully on July 24th, 2026 in Mesa, AZ. He was born on March 11th, 1963 to Ray and Laura Vasquez. He grew up surrounded by family and friends. He enjoyed playing baseball, football, and wrestling. His favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys, the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the ASU Sun Devils.

Gilbert graduated Mesa High School in 1981. While in high school he got a job with Mesa Public schools as a delivery driver. He dedicated 35 years with the schools and retired in 2012. He also worked as a delivery driver with O'Reilly's Auto Parts for two years. Gilbert was known to be the guy who you could call if you needed any help.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his father Ray Vasquez, brother Steven Vasquez, and sister Reina Vasquez.

Gilbert is survived by his significant other, Deanna, his mother, Laura Vasquez, his sister, Laure Vasquez, 4 stepchildren, 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 2 god children alongside many nephews and nieces.

A visitation will be held at 10:00am on Friday, August 7th, 2026, followed by funeral services from 10:30am-1:00pm at Legacy Funeral Home - Rose Chapel: 1130 S. Horne Mesa, AZ 85204.

 Luncheon to follow after services with details to be provided at the services.
