Saubra Denise Lofton
Apr 10, 1958 — Oct 24, 2026
Saubra Denise Lofton was born on April 10, 1958, in Akron, Ohio, to the union of the late Wallace and Gillie Ann Lofton.
Saubra graduated from Akron Central-Hower High School in 1977. She went on to attend the renowned Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts School in Scottsdale, Arizona, and spent more than 25 years working in the food industry as both a private and commercial chef. Her passion for cooking was evident to everyone who knew her, and countless people had the pleasure of enjoying the love and talent she poured into her food.
Saubra loved the Lord, her children, grandchildren, and family. She also had a love for traveling and enjoyed exploring whenever the opportunity presented itself. She was known for her unmistakable sense of style, her incredible cooking, and, of course, always having a fly pair of heels or boots. Saubra had a style and presence all her own, and she will be remembered for the joy, love, and personality she brought into the lives of those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Gillie Ann Lofton; grandparents, Richard T. and Sagola Logan; life partner, Leo Hogue; son, Jade Lofton; brothers, Alvin Logan, Lorenzo Belton, Larry Belton, and Ronald Belton, Leo Belton (Big Leo); sister, Debra Belton; nephew, Bouchard Kindell; and sister-in-law, Joyce Hunt.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Marcia Lofton and Tara (Cameron Johnson) Hogue; Princess Hogue; son, Leo "Tico" Hogue; granddaughters, Jade Owens and Heaven Hogue; and grandson, Cameron Johnson Jr.
She also leaves her siblings: Leo (Karryl) Belton, Eric Lofton, Errol Lofton, Ramona Lofton, Gary (Denita) Belton, Norma Oliver, Mary Rogers, Elaine Oliver, Clara (Tony) Brinson, and Sophilia Belton-Patton.
She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Linda Owens, Ernestine Williams, Patricia Jeffries, and Patricia Belton, along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
The family would also like to lovingly acknowledge her daughters-in-love, Twana Kenneth, Lauralee Linares, and Altamisha Woods; her princess, Jamilah Kenneth; and her Dyva, Rasheedah Bullock. Each held a special place in Saubra's heart, and the family is grateful for the love and connection they shared.
Saubra's life was filled with love, laughter, family, faith, and memories that will forever be treasured. She was truly the life of the party, and when Saubra entered a room, you knew she was there! Her vibrant personality, unmistakable presence, sense of style, and love for bringing people together made her unforgettable. Whether she was sharing a home-cooked meal, enjoying a family gathering, telling a story, or stepping out in her favorite heels or boots, Saubra had a way of making every moment a little more memorable. Her love will continue to live on through the family she cherished, the lives she touched, and the countless memories that will be shared for generations to come. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her spirit, laughter, and larger-than-life personality will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. Rest peacefully, Saubra.
