Marjory Cameron

Marjory Lavon Jelinek Cameron, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026, in Ontario, Oregon. She was 94 years old.

Marjory was born on January 2, 1932, in Ansley, Nebraska, to John Jelinek Jr. and Ida Margaret Fithian.

On January 14, 1950, Marjory married Emery Earl Cameron in Adrian, Oregon. Together they shared more than seven decades of marriage and built a life centered around their family. On March 15, 1962, Emery and Marjory were sealed together as husband and wife in the Idaho Falls Temple, along with their four children. This sacred family sealing was an important part of their life as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and their faith in being together as a family for eternity.

Marjory and Emery were blessed with four children: Ann, Richard, Joy, and Tami. Their family grew through the years, bringing Marjory the blessings and joys of being a grandmother, great-grandmother.

Emery preceded Marjory in death on January 26, 2022. Emery is now reunited with his ‘lover girl’ with whom they shared a lifetime of love, memories, and devotion to their family.

Marjory is survived by her four children, Ann (Michael) Bell, Richard (Heidi) Cameron, Joy (Bill) Phelps, and Tami Cameron; her brothers, George Jelinek and Floyd (Shauna) Bullen; and sister, Kathleen Leffler. She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren Trisha Thomson, Veda Bell, Darin Bell (Sandee), Lydia (Courtney) Fry, Gina (Matthew) Copeland, Denton (Rebecca) Bell; Tyson (Breanna) Cameron, Katie (Steven) Hurst, Creed (Holly) Cameron; Jade (Melissa) Phelps, Brandi (Kreyton) Jackson, Lyndsey (Michael) Douglass, Cortney Christensen, Tyrel (Julie) Phelps, Brittney (Brent) McCosh, Hunter (Megan) Phelps, 53 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren who will carry her memory and the legacy of her love into future generations

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Jelinek Jr. and Ida Margaret Fithian; her beloved husband, Emery Earl Cameron; and her sister, Joyce Anderson.

Marjory's greatest legacy is the family she and Emery created. From their four children came grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, creating generations of family who will remember her and the love she shared.

Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is once again with her beloved Emery and that, through the eternal family promises they cherish, their family can be together again forever.

A viewing for friends and family will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 10:00 am followed by funeral services at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 1705 NW 4th Ave. Ontario, Oregon
