Patricia Link
May 4, 1941 — Oct 7, 2026
Patricia “Pat” (Ring) Link, 85, passed away on Wednesday, October 7th, 2026, in Boise, Idaho. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and she will be deeply missed.
Patricia was born in Langdon, North Dakota, on May 4, 1941, to Fred and Alice (Krueger) Ring. After graduating from Langdon High School in 1959, she attended North Dakota State University, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Home Economics in 1963. After graduation, Pat taught sixth grade home economics in Jamestown, ND before moving to Washington state to take a job as an Extension Agent.
In 1966, Pat met the love of her life, Larry Link, on a bus ride in Washington. They were married in Pomeroy, WA, on June 24, 1967, and eagerly began building their life together. They relocated to Ontario, Oregon, in 1969 for Larry's teaching position, and three years later moved into the permanent home just outside of town that would become the cornerstone of their lifelong journey.
A dedicated homemaker and mother, Pat spent the majority of her life caring for her three children and family home. She actively invested her time in the community through her involvement with 4-H and the Extension Service. Additionally, she worked part-time at local fabric stores off and on throughout the years.
Pat’s love of sewing blossomed into a passion for quilting, resulting in hundreds of beautiful quilts. She took great joy in crafting handmade greeting cards, delighting family and friends with her creations throughout the years. When she was not quilting or card making, you could find her working on a puzzle when family visited.
Over the years the family took numerous road trips together to visit national parks, family in North Dakota, and Sumpter, OR. Later in life Pat expanded her horizons globally by visiting several countries including Greece, Spain, Morocco, Gibraltar, Italy, Portugal, and the Netherlands.
Pat is survived by her three daughters, Jennifer (Shawn) Exon of Boise, ID, Lynnetta (Kevin) Doellefeld of Newberg, OR, and Melissa (Roger) of Dallas, OR; her grandchildren, Haley Exon, Selena Exon, Kendall Exon, Madelyn Doellefeld, and Rowan Doellefeld; her sisters, Marcia (Cale) Shipman and Marlene Ring; and her sister-in-law, Sharon Ring. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Link; her parents, Fred and Alice Ring; and her brother, Lynn Ring.
A public visitation will be held at Lienkaemper Funeral Home in Ontario, OR on Friday, October 23, 2026 from 3:00-4:30 pm. A celebration of life gathering is planned at Four Rivers Cultural Center in Ontario on Saturday, October 24, 2026 from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm.
