Austin James Ramsey

Austin James Ramsey age 31, passed away on May 02, 2026 after a life defined by strength, resilience, and deep love.

Born on November 2, 1994 in Tampa, FL, Austin lived a life that touched everyone who knew him. Though he faced significant medical challenges, including Trisomy 13, he far exceeded expectations and brought 31 years of meaning and connection to his family.

Austin was deeply loved and cared for by his devoted parents, Richard and Edwina, who dedicated their lives to his comfort and well-being.

He is also survived by his loving siblings, Leah Garand (Alex and niece Avery Berard) and Megan Gosier (Matt); uncle Charles A. Stewart; grandmother Shirley Ramsey; uncle Timothy Ramsey (Michelle); aunt Pam Ramsey; cousins Caitlin Baker (Thomas) and Jenna Brown (Mitch and daughter Maggie).

Austin was preceded in death by his grandmother, Roberta Stewart; grandfather, Thurston Ramsey; and grandfather, Charles W. Stewart.

Austin’s joy could be found in simple, beautiful moments — the smile that lit up his face when he was sung to, the excitement of seeing his beloved “Sissy,” and the deep laughter that came from within him. While his life looked different than most, it was no less meaningful. He taught those around him patience, compassion, and a deeper understanding of unconditional love.

Austin’s life was shaped by extraordinary love, and that love will continue long after his passing.

A service will be held on May 23, 2026, from 12:00–2:00 p.m. at Loyless Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Children's Hospital, which cared for Austin throughout his life, or to Metropolitan Ministries to support children and families in need this summer.
