David Brian Allen
December 15, 1956 — October 30, 2025
David B. Allen, 68, of Land O’ Lakes, Florida, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 30th, at home surrounded by his family.
Born in Springfield, Illinois in 1956, he lived a life defined by hard work, love for his family, and quiet strength.
Dave was a man of deep integrity and generous heart. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures- time spent with his loving wife and family, an easy conversation with a friend, and cheering on his favorite teams. He delighted in sunny days at the beach and, most of all, a round well played on the golf course in good company. Dave was always up for a friendly wager and a perfectly made Manhattan. His humor, quiet wisdom, and steady presence brought comfort and laughter to those around him, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Linda Allen; daughters: Michelle Lannon (Tim), Katherine Ward (Steve), Megan Allen, and Rachel Lee (Fabian Rodriguez); his cherished grandchildren: Charlie, Delaney, Taylor, Travis, and Fiona; beloved bonus grandchildren: William, Joey, and Gabby; siblings: John Allen (Patti) and Richard Allen (Fatemeh); and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lucille (Peters) Allen and beloved nephew, Brian Allen.
Following cremation, Dave’s ashes will be laid to rest at sea in a private ceremony with his immediate family.
To honor Dave’s life and love for the game, family and friends are invited to a golf scramble at his home course, The Groves Golf and Country Club. Date TBA. The day will be a reflection of the things he cherished most- good company, friendly competition, laughter, and the beauty of being outdoors.
Immediately following the scramble, a dinner will be held in his memory, complete with his signature Manhattan raised in celebration of a life well lived and a man well loved.
Dave’s legacy lives on in the laughter of his grandchildren, the values he instilled in his family, and through his steady spirit of kindness he shared with everyone he met.
