Hugh Alexander Senior was the first born of identical twins on September 6, 1933 to Beatrice Wilson and Alfred Senior in the parish of St. Andrew, Jamaica, West Indies. Shortly after birth, his mother passed away and he was raised by his paternal grandmother, Emma Blake. He had three siblings, Cromwell, Audrey and Albert, all deceased.

Hugh participated in all forms of sport throughout his youth and early adult years. His favorite game was cricket at which he excelled as a fast bowler. He played for Melbourne Cricket Club for a few years, and later he competed in the Inter-Bank Cricket Competition in Jamaica. He captained the Jamaica Citizens Bank team for a number of years.

He, alongside his twin brother, attended St. Francis Elementary School, Nuns’ Pen, St. Andrew followed by Kingston Technical High School. There he focused on Business Administration studies.

After graduating from Kingston Technical High School, he worked with The Bata Shoe company in its Administration offices. In 1962, he joined The Bank of Jamaica working again in Administration for seven years. He then worked with Jamaica Citizens Bank for twenty-five years. He started as a Management Trainee and rose to the level of General Manager. After retiring from Jamaica Citizens Bank in 1993, Hugh established Cosmopolitan Travel and Tours Ltd., a company he ran for twenty-six years.

In 1968, while working at Jamaica Citizens Bank, Hugh met Thelma who was also an employee of the Bank. Hugh married Thelma in 1979 after she had migrated to the USA. They lived between Jamaica and the USA until October 2019, when they decided that it was time to stay permanently in their home in Wesley Chapel, Florida.

In addition to his professional life, Hugh, like his brother Albert, had a love for photography and interior decorating. He was the photographer for many weddings and birthday parties.

Hugh, Thelma and other family members travelled extensively as a group. They loved cruising and visited several countries in Europe on river and ocean cruises. In addition they visited Australia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, China, Panama, and Israel.

Hugh died peacefully at home in Florida on June 12, 2026. He is survived by his wife Thelma, sisters-in-law: Ione, Norma, Nola, Margarette; brother-in-law Keith; niece Audrey (Reggie); nephews Michael (Sharon) and Christopher (Simone); grandnephews Ryder and Ryan; grandniece Eden; cousins Tony and Inez; loving caregiver Basil, and a host of other relatives and friends.
