Jacqueline Kay (Bradley) Reid

Jacqueline Kay "Jackie" Reid entered her eternal home in Heaven on July 17, 2026 surrounded by family, who cherished her and remained by her side in love and devotion. Born on April 1, 1931, in Wilmington, Delaware, to John and Lovina Bradley, she graduated from Wilmington High School in 1949 and earned her nursing degree from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1952.Her nursing career took her from Delaware to Alaska, Oklahoma, and eventually Texas, where she faithfully served as a Registered Nurse and as Director of Nursing for more than 14 years in Killeen and Lampasas.

After settling in Texas, Jackie embraced country life alongside her husband, Gilbert Nauert and children. Together they enjoyed raising chickens and other farm animals. She also enjoyed cross-stitching, tending her garden, antiquing, reading about history and cheering on her Dallas Cowboys! After Gilbert’s death in 1995, she moved to Florida and spent two years doing private-duty nursing before discovering another passion in the world of antiques. She worked in an antique shop for eight years, until she married Donald Reid in 2011. They remained inseparable until Don's passing in 2015.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; her infant daughter, Cheryl Lynn Wells; her husbands, Gilbert Nauert and Donald Reid; her sons, Jim Wells and Glen Nauert; and her sisters, Eleanor Harris and Nancy Mellick. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her children: John Wells (Betty) of Anchorage, Alaska; Kathy Bullara (Paul) of Land O' Lakes, Florida; Dee Herndon (Danny) of Dover, Tennessee; David Nauert (Melanie) of Temple, Texas; daughters-in-law, Marilyn Wells of Kempner, Texas and Anita Nauert of Killeen, Texas. She is also survived by her loving sister, Sandra Springs of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

She was a loving and devoted mother to her six children and remained so till her death. Though they grieve her absence, they find comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the loving arms of her Savior.

A private graveside burial will take place in Copperas Cove, Texas where she will be laid to rest beside her husband Gilbert and son Glen Nauert.
