Robert John Stucker
Mar 14, 1944 — Jul 27, 2026
Robert Stucker, 82, of Wesley Chapel, Florida died July 27, 2026 at Gulfside Hospice after a struggle with dementia. Bob was born in Toledo, Ohio to the late Earl and Helen Stucker. He was a 1962 graduate of Central Catholic High School and a 1967 graduate of the University of Toledo with a degree in speech and theatre. Bob taught English for many years at Central Catholic, St. Francis de Sales, and Oak Harbor High Schools. He directed and produced dozens of plays and musicals at those schools and also for the Oregon Community Theatre.
In the 1970s he was director of formal entertainment for Toledo’s International Festival and was the first auditorium manager at the Franciscan Life Center in Sylvania, Ohio. Bob and his wife were longtime volunteers for CitiFest, being honored as Volunteers of the Decade in 1997.
Bob was elected to the Central Catholic Music Hall of Fame in 2005. In 2006 he was named by the Ohio Legislature as one of the top ten educators in Ottawa County. He was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Church in Tampa where he was a past president of its SMARTS senior group.
Bob was full of fun. He loved dogs, ice cream, chocolate, fireworks, cruises, and decorating the house for Halloween and Christmas. His light displays were famous throughout the neighborhood. Bob’s creativity knew no bounds both at home and on stage. He and his wife moved to Florida after retiring in 2007 and embraced the Tampa Bay area by attending Rays and Lightning games and going to Busch Gardens as often as possible.
Bob is survived by his loving family, wife Marilyn (Bagdonas) with whom he shared 56 years of marriage, his daughter, Erin O’Connor, grandchildren Brendan and Cailin O’Connor of Manhasset, NY and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Sue Bagdonas of Perrysburg, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Lois and Rod Henning, and daughter Elizabeth Henderson.
