Shirley Ann Jory

Shirley Ann (Bahr) Jory, age 95, of Wesley Chapel FL, formerly of Swartz Creek MI passed away peacefully on August 8th, 2026, at home surrounded by family.

Shirley was born September 23rd, 1930, in Flint Michigan, the daughter of Vernon Bahr and Ruth (Cain) Bahr. She married Theron Gail Jory in 1952.

Shirley graduated from Durand High School in 1948. After raising her family, she joined the workforce and eventually became a well-known employee at the Swartz Creek city offices. Shirley was very community minded and served as a voting poll worker for many years. Along with being an excellent homemaker and devoted mother to her five children, she enjoyed sewing, gatherings with family and friends, bargain shopping, puzzles and walking for exercise. She was also everyone’s favorite euchre partner.

Shirley is survived by Alan (Kristine) Jory of Fenton MI, Ruth (Larry) Wertenberger of Naylor MO, Carol (Jay) Jory of Brant MI, Brian (Joyce) Jory of Tampa FL and Paula (Debbie Robinson) Jory of Tampa FL; 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren,11 great-great grandchildren, 2 sisters Linda Ackel, Nancy (Carol) Douthit and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband as well as many siblings and dear friends.

The family wishes to acknowledge the invaluable contribution to Shirley’s care lovingly provided by Kathryn Ross Young and April Young.

A Private Memorial will be held in Michigan on a later date.
