Joan Dugan

Born March 6, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to John O’Connell and Jean Redmond O’Connell. Joan passed away October 3, 2026, in Santa Barbara, California with friends, family and her dog Katie by her side. Joan is survived by her stepsons Steven Earle Dugan and Daniel Sean Dugan, daughter-in-law Jessie Ward Dugan, step grandson Andrew Sean Dugan, and her much loved dog Katie. Joan was predeceased by her parents, her sister Janet L. Bremes and her husband of 28 years Earle Ray Dugan. Joan and Earle met in Chicago Illinois in 1968. They moved to Malibu, California in 1970 and were married on the beach with dozens of friends in attendance. Joan and Earle spent 15 years living on Broad Beach in Malibu where there was a never-ending party with their neighbors which included many famous names and faces. In 1985 , after traveling the world, Joan and Earle moved to Santa Barbara California to a cottage on State Street. There they lived happily for many years. Joan enjoyed traveling in her motor home, having fun and many adventures with her good friends. Always cheerful and easy going, willing to help anyone with a smile on her face. Joan loved to cook, reading, card games and her dogs and friends. All who knew her will miss her.
