With profound sadness and broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Barbara A. Byorick (nee Balcavage), who peacefully passed on May 14, 2026 at the age of 78. Born in Shenandoah, PA on September 28th 1947, she was the heartbeat of our family.
Legacy
Mom dedicated her life to her family. She was the cornerstone of our home, known for her thoughtfulness, patience, and loving heart. Mom loved playing the piano, crocheting, reading, playing games on her iPad, spending time with family and friends, and watching Netflix. Her favorite holiday was Christmas Eve with family at her home. No family gathering was complete without her famous apple cake.
Family
She is the beloved wife of the late Thomas M. Byorick. Devoted and loving mother of Robyn (Michael) Shiplee, Kristin (Ken) Covone, Jeff (Amy) Byorick, and Karyn (Erica Milas) Byorick. Treasured grandmother (Mom Mom) of Christina (Jacob Boyle) Curreri, Aiden Covone, Olivia Covone, Branden Shiplee, Ava Byorick, and Jacob Byorick. Dear sister of Frank (Mary Anne) Balcavage and Dynise (Chris Heitmann) Balcavage. Predeceased by her parents Helen and Frank Balcavage and her sister Deborah Post. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Wednesday, May 27th from 10:30AM to 12:00PM in the McGuinness Funeral Home-(Washington Township Location) 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ 08080. Funeral Service at 12:00PM. Interment to follow in Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Glioblastoma Research Organization www.gbmresearch.org.
