Dawn Ann Schell
Sep 3, 1943 — Jun 30, 2026
Dawn Ann Schell, 82, of Sewell, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Hospice in Voorhees, NJ.
Born in Trenton, NJ, Dawn was the daughter of Salvador and Catherine Gibilisco. She was the beloved wife of the late Pastor John "Jack" Schell, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage until his passing in 2017.
Dawn graduated from Northeast Bible Institute, where her path and Jack's became one. Together, they ministered to thousands of people up and down the East Coast; pastoring and planting churches, running drug rehabilitation programs, and lifting their voices in worship wherever they went. Dawn was gifted by God with a beautiful singing voice, and she used it to touch hearts with the gospel of Jesus Christ. She served as music director at Teen Challenge, produced several record albums at King's Place Recording Studio, and gave of herself as a worship leader and choir director alongside her husband for more than 50 years of shared ministry.
Above all, Dawn loved God and her family with her whole heart, and she was deeply loved in return.
She is survived by her brother, Louis Gibilisco; her sons, John Schell, Jr. (Katherine) and Christopher Schell (Leah); her daughter, Kim Arroyo (Craig); five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
