Harriett M. Decker, 96, of Glassboro, NJ, passed away peacefully at Cardinal Village on May 29, 2026.
Born in Elyria, Ohio, Harriett lived a long and meaningful life marked by kindness, resilience.
Harriett devoted her life to her family, choosing to stay at home to raise her family and create a loving household. She took great pride in being a homemaker, which was centered around caring for her family, celebrating milestones, and creating traditions that would be cherished for generations. Later in life, Harriett and her husband enjoyed being world travelers visiting more than 40 countries.
Predeceased by her parents Benjamin J. and Lucille Varsey, husband Richard C. Decker and daughter-in-law Deborah Decker, she is survived by her daughter Carrie Decker, son, Dwain Decker and his partner, Paul Hample; grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Matt Semple, Nicole Decker and Christopher Decker; great grandchildren, Gabrianna Semple, Brody Semple and Everleigh Semple.
A viewing will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026 from 4:00pm until 5:00pm at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell. Funeral Services for Harriett will be held at 5:00pm at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Harriett as a breast cancer survivor at cancer.org/donate
