Joseph F. Lang, Jr.

Joseph F. Lang, Jr., of Washington Township, NJ, passed away at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital on Monday, July 20, 2026. He was 79 years old.

Joe was born in Camden on August 1, 1946 to the late L. Eleanore “Bunny” (Bunting) and Joseph F. Lang, Sr. “Pat”.

Joe was a devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan and a proud season ticket holder who rarely missed the chance to cheer on his team. He traveled to Ireland many times, treasured its culture and traditions, and was an active member of the Irish dancing community. He also dedicated countless hours to helping organize and run the Philadelphia Ceili Group’s Annual Traditional Music and Dance Festival, sharing his love of Irish music, dance, and fellowship with others.

Joe was a strong supporter of The Philadelphia Folksong Society and especially the Philadelphia Folk Festival, which was his only planned and unconditional vacation for nearly forty years.

After his active duty in the U.S. Army, Joe returned to New Jersey and started his professional career in the Communications industry. While the names of the telephone companies changed over the years, his loyalty, dedication, and work ethic remained constant. He was a steady presence throughout decades of change, earning the respect of colleagues and friends alike.

Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Anne (nee Lynch); twin sons, Joseph F. III and James J.; beloved brother of the late Timothy (Bonnye): the late Janet Huggan (the late Rodney); and Lorraine Quinn (D. Brian). Joe is also survived by his extended family of numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to Joe’s viewing on Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 9:00am until 11:00am at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ 08080. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at the funeral home at 11:00am. Interment will follow with Military Honors at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 240 N. Tuckahoe Road, Williamstown, NJ 08094.
