Krista Marie Collings
May 11, 1981 — Aug 16, 2026
Krista Marie Collings, 45, of Mullica Hill, New Jersey, passed away peacefully early on August 16, 2026 at Penn University Hospital, after a long battle with Non-Hodgkins / Richters Lymphoma, surrounded by her loving family.
Born May 11, 1981, in Philadelphia, PA, to Joseph Hassell and Donna (Hunt). Krista was an honors graduate of Clearview Regional High School. Krista went on to get her undergraduate business degree from Rosemont College and Master’s Degree from Newmann University in Strategic Leadership.
Krista dedicated 25 years to the banking industry. Her goal was helping small business owners across Pennsylvania and NJ markets. Krista spent her last 5 years at TD Bank as Vice President / Relationship Manager in Commercial Banking. Banking and building client relationships led Krista to her passion - to be a leading public service volunteer in our community. Krista served as the board president for the Greater Woodbury Chamber of Commerce. Krista was an active member of the Board at Rowan College of South Jersey. Krista also founded New Visions, a leading South Jersey organization bringing business owners together to network. In addition, she served on the boards of the Gloucester County Bar Association, the United Way, and Habitat for Humanity. Krista recently was honored by the Gloucester County Chamber as Volunteer of the Year in 2026 for her lifetime achievements.
Krista was a committed PTA Member for her children’s schools, Harrison Township Elementary School and Pleasant Valley School. She was also a fan and volunteer for Harrison Township sports teams including soccer, baseball, and basketball.
In September 2005, Krista met the love of her life, Brian Jason Collings. They were married on September 5, 2008. Together they built a home filled with warmth, faith, and laughter. Krista and Brian Jason have two loving children: Kaitlin Marie Collings, born on January 14, 2013; and Connor Collings, born on November 3, 2015. Krista was a dedicated wife and mother who never missed a school play, a soccer game, or a chance to remind her children how proud she was of them. Krista enjoyed the beach with her family and taking pictures to celebrate and cherish all life’s milestones with her family.
Krista was a devoted Catholic and especially devoted herself to God during her cancer journey. Although cancer changed Krista’s life, it instilled a renewed sense of purpose and deeper appreciation for life. Krista spent this time creating project “Spark”, a blog and online platform sharing her personal journey to help others battling cancer.
Krista is survived by her husband of 18 years, Brian Jason; her children Kaitlin & Connor, her parents Joseph and Donna Hassell; her brother Joseph Kassell, Esq. & his wife Sarah (Koczot) of Glen Allen, VA, and nephews Mason & Owen Kassell.
Krista's wishes were to have a child-friendly Celebration of Life where family, friends of the family and colleagues can come to share memories, offer condolences and see all the beauty that Krista has created. This visitation will be held for the public on Tuesday, August 25, between 5 PM and 9 PM at McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Rd, Sewell, NJ 08080. All are welcome.
A public Catholic Mass will be held on Wednesday morning, August 26, at 10:30 AM at Incarnation Church, 240 Main St, Mantua Township, NJ 08051.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Krista Memorial Fund for her family support at Krista Memorial Fund
Krista was the beauty and brains behind the online blog project called "Spark". Spark was created by Krista to help others on a similar journey as her own. She has spoken at several seminars about Spark as well. Spark touched the lives of many cancer patients to help them too, to find their "Spark"
