Lawrence Anthony Mitchell

Lawrence Anthony Mitchell “Larry,” of Vineland, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the age of 82.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Larry was the son of Andrew and Stella (Tomczyk) Mitchell. He carried forward a proud family legacy as the owner of Mitchell Mechanical & Electrical, Inc.

Larry was a devoted man of faith. He read his Bible daily, taught Bible study, participated in mission trips, and found great joy in Christian music. His favorite verse was John 3:16, He was known for often saying, “God is in control”.

Above all, Larry was a loving and dedicated family man. He was an incredible role model to his eight children, sixteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He embraced life fully and found happiness in time spent with family, as well as in traveling, skiing, biking, and sailing. He also enjoyed the humor of John Belushi and the music of Andrea Bocelli.

Larry is survived by his children: Sharon Clugston (Ken), Diane Starr (Jim), Charlotte Vickers (Archie), Tony Mitchell, Chris Mitchell (Angela), Joshua Mitchell, and Gianna Mitchell. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Marlaina, Sophia, Danielle, Devin, Andrew, Tiffany, Melissa, Tyler, Ryan, Jack, Kaylyn, Tariana, Antonio, Natalie, Aalivea, and Ella; and his cherished great-grandchildren: Lorelai, Gannon, Paisleigh, Tatum, Laylani, Landon, Carter, and Nyla. He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Stella Mitchell; his brothers, Robert and Andrew Mitchell; and his daughter, Lori Vickers.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Gloucester County Community Church, 359 Chapel Heights Road, Sewell, New Jersey. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Larry would appreciate you listening to Andrea Bocelli while enjoying a glass of wine.
