Theresa L. Cooper

Jul 29, 1948 — Oct 4, 2026

Theresa Lorraine Cooper passed away peacefully after a long illness, in the home of her daughter and surrounded by her family on October 4, 2026, at the age of 78.

She was the wife of Joseph Cooper (deceased). She will be missed by and is survived by her brother Joe Kenneth Eubanks II, sister Lynn Maureen Stankard (Robert), daughter Leanna Michelle Jackson (James), and son John Joseph Foster Jr. She is also survived by nephews Joe Kenneth Eubanks II and Jacob Steven Eubanks, granddaughter Sarah Lynn Burns (John), and grandsons James Ryan Jackson (Annalyse), and Jake Matthew Jackson. She had four beautiful great-granddaughters: Sophie James, Bella Rose, Savannah Christine, and Olivia Grace. She is also survived by her long-term partner, Gary Sailor, who was devoted to her. Theresa was very much loved by her family and friends and loved them in return.

Theresa was born on July 29, 1948, in Compton, California. She was predeceased by both her parents, Joe Kenneth Eubanks and Lena Mary Trerotola Eubanks, and by her brother Steven Michael. She was a 1966 graduate of John Bartram High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Theresa was an amazing woman of many gifts and talents. She was very artistic, had done beautiful paintings and even painted lovely intricate floral designs on furniture. She made many quilts for family and friends and crafted beautiful wreaths and centerpieces. Her beautiful pottery collection reflected her fine taste. She was a fabulous cook and hostess and loved to host family dinners in her warm and inviting home. She also enjoyed gardening. In her later years she spent a lot of time with Gary enjoying many pastimes: watching old movies, listening to music, going to concerts (they really enjoyed the Rolling Stones concert they attended!), and socializing at the neighborhood bar. Theresa enjoyed life, and everyone who knew Theresa could feel her love for them. She was a good mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a good friend.

A private Celebration of Life is planned, at a date yet undetermined.
