Thomas W. Tinsley Jr.

Thomas William Tinsley, age 91 of Sewell, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2026 surrounded by his family.

Born on May 28th, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA to Thomas William Tinsley Sr. and Mildred Tinsley (Donahue). Proud native of Swampoodle - He graduated from Roman Catholic High School class of 1952. He was a dedicated union carpenter (Local 8) for over 60 years.

He was “Pop” to everyone that knew him and anyone he met. He was the definition of a genuinely great person through and through. He loved sitting in the sun on his porch, traveling to North Wildwood in the summer, fishing, the Phillies and baking brownies for all special occasions. He recently started making bowls and gave one to each of his great-grandchildren’s teachers this past Christmas. His Christmas platform and trains were something to look forward to each year, and he loved the joy and excitement that it brought to the kids. He loved Disney trips with family, but also loved Anna Maria island and spent many Septembers making memories with his brother and sisters in that little piece of paradise. He never missed a cat nap before dinner and could hum any child to sleep. To know him was to love him and he has left a legacy of love 💙.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife Donna Tinsley (Murgitroyde). Devoted father to Donna Murphy, Michelle (Thomas) McCusker, and Thomas Tinsley. Cherished grandfather to Kerstin (Joseph) Bennett, Katie (Andrew) Kolea, Meghan (Patrick) DiGiovanni, Tommy (Ashley) Tinsley, Timmy Murphy, Kylee McCusker (Ron), Erin Murphy, and Colleen (Brendan) Mullins. Treasured great grandfather to Aidan, Cameron, Joseph, Demi, Tinsley, Liam, Rosalie, Sofia, Dennis, Addella, Norah and Nico. Dear brother to Millie Abrams, Marie Moore, and Stephen Tinsley. Preceded in death by sisters Caroline Falcone and Loretta Egan. He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday, March 28th from 1:30PM-3:00PM in the McGuinness Funeral Home - 573 Egg Harbor Rd, Sewell, NJ 08080. A funeral ceremony will be held immediately following.
