Christine Marie Kelly

It is with great sadness and broken hearts we share the news that Christine Marie Kelly, affectionately known as “Chrissy,” passed away suddenly and tragically on September 2, 2026, at her home in Deptford, New Jersey. She was born on August 15, 1986, in Willingboro, New Jersey. Chrissy had just turned 40 years old.

Chrissy was the beloved daughter of James Kelly and Jean Marie Caplette.

A bright and accomplished student, Chrissy was an honor roll graduate of West Deptford High School. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in Writing Arts from Rowan University. During her time at Rowan, she especially enjoyed participating in the University’s semester study abroad program at Stirling University in Scotland, an experience that gave her the opportunity to explore and experience life abroad.

Chrissy visited her family in Scotland, her father’s native county, many times since her childhood and developed a deep love for her Scots family and the country. Following the study abroad program at Stirling, and subsequent graduation from Rowan University, she became a naturalized UK (dual) citizen and spent a few years there immersing in and exploring the culture.

Chrissy’s love of music—alternative music in particular—began at an early age and never faltered. Her knowledge and passion for the genre were remarkable, and anyone watching Jeopardy! with her knew that if an alternative music, or popular music, question appeared, Chrissy would almost certainly know the answer. Other hobbies included fashion and managing her social media blog, which was well established with many followers.

Chrissy will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, intelligence, curiosity, love of music, and the unique spirit she brought to the lives of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Chrissy is survived by her father, James (Dianna) Kelly, and her mother, Jean Marie (Michael) Caplette. She is also survived by her Scots aunts: Catherine Lochran, Marie Fowler, Angela Bell and uncle John Kelly, US uncles Walter, Wayne, Victor and Kenneth Pollard and maternal grandmother Jean Resnick. Chrissy will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 10, 2026, 11:00am (EST) at McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at the funeral home at 12:00pm (EST).
