Eileen Susan Murphy
Aug 22, 1960 — Sep 30, 2026
Eileen Susan Murphy “Sue”, of Glassboro, NJ passed away on September 30, 2026, while surrounded by the love of family. She was 66 years young.
Sue was born in Camden, New Jersey, on August 22, 1960, to her loving parents, Susan and Thomas. She grew up in Haddonfield, New Jersey, with her mother and step-father, Steven Sayres, spending her summers on the beaches of Money Island, where she and her siblings spent their days barefoot, exploring the shore and catching anything they could—especially crabs.
From her childhood through adulthood, Sue remained an avid angler and a true lover of the ocean. She found joy in being on the water and was always up for an adventure. Her biggest catch was a remarkable six-foot reef shark—a story that perfectly captured her adventurous spirit and love of the sea.
In her adult life, Sue worked with Bellia and Sons for some time, but her true calling was being a wife and mother. Sue poured her heart and soul into her family and was always full of love to give. Her family was her greatest joy, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to the people she loved.
Sue was an incredible wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and friend. She brought warmth, love, laughter, and adventure into the lives of so many, and the memories she created will be cherished forever.
Sue is survived by her husband, Audie Murphy; her father, Thomas Tate (Michelle); children, Jamie Murphy and George Lonabaugh (Krystal); 3 grandchildren, Georgia, Jordan, Alyssa, Ashton and Roy; siblings, Thomas Tate (Pam), Elmer Tate, Sandy Tate McCullough (Brian), Steven Sayres (Chrissy), Athena Tate, Natalee Tate and Patricia Tate (Jeff). Sue is also survived by her nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
She is predeceased by her mother, Susan Sayres and step-father, Steven Sayres; sisters in law, Joni Sayres and Pauline Tate.
Relatives and friends are invited to Sue’s Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury from 10:00am until 11:30am. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:30am at the funeral home.
