Josephine M. Sauselein
Jan 11, 1941 — Oct 14, 2026
Josephine M. Sauselein, 85, of West Deptford, NJ, passed away at home on October 14, 2026.
Josephine’s life was defined by love, generosity, and devotion to her family. Selfless by nature, she always put others first and made those around her feel loved and valued. Her family was her greatest joy. She adored her grandchildren, and Grandmom’s house became a special part of their childhoods. The time they spent together created a lasting bond.
Family traditions were an important part of Josephine’s life. Summer vacations in Sea Isle City were a cherished family time, filled with laughter and memories. Thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorite holidays, especially because of the traditions established over the years. She loved baking, and her Jewish apple cake and homemade pizzelles became family favorites.
An avid reader, Josephine enjoyed getting lost in a good book and sharing it with others. She also loved watching her favorite daytime soap operas, shopping, and going to the casino. In her younger years, she traveled to Europe several times and enjoyed many cruises.
Josephine treasured her lifelong friendships with the “Jolly Girls,” a special group of friends dating back to grade school. Over the decades, they shared laughter, stories, and celebrations.
Josephine was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Sauselein; her sister, Arline Capaldi; and her parents, James and Ann Capaldi. She is survived by her children, Linda Wicker, Lori Lightcap (Matthew), and Christine Lenggenhager (Adam); her grandchildren, Alexandra, James (Emily), Levi, Brett, Brooke, and Nathan; her great-grandson, Carson; and her beloved fur babies, Cookie and Joey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Infant Jesus Parish at St. Margaret’s Church, located at Third and Beech Streets, Woodbury Heights.
