Kathleen Anne Dorsey Rieger, 73, beloved wife, mother, Mimi, and educator, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family.

A proud graduate of Woodbury High School (1971) and Douglass College (1975), Kathy dedicated 36 years to teaching mathematics at Haddonfield High School (1975–2011), inspiring generations of students with her passion and dedication.

An avid quilter, she shared her beautiful creations with everyone she knew. Kathy also worked part-time at Early Girls Quilts in Audubon, where she enjoyed spreading her love of quilting to friends and customers alike.

Kathy was a devoted fan of Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Phillies, and cherished her role as “Mimi” to her grandchildren. She loved long summer vacations at the Jersey Shore—particularly Ocean City, NJ, and more recently Wildwood—and had a special love for Disney World, especially when it came to spoiling her grandkids.

She married William Rieger Jr. on June 25, 1977, and shared 49 years of marriage, raising a loving family together. She is survived by her children: Jennifer; William III (Catherine Heide); and Thomas Sr. (Kristyn Korbel); and her eight grandchildren: Thomas Jr., Heide, Tanner, Lily, Trevor, William IV, John, and Kenley. She is also survived by her siblings, John (Kathy Zawitoski) and Karen (Jerry Gladfelter).

She was predeceased by her beloved grandson, Vincent, and her parents, Kenneth Dorsey and Anne Scott.

Her love, warmth, and generosity touched everyone she met, and her legacy will live on through her family, her students, and all who had the joy of knowing her.

Farewell Tribute

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday, May 22, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McGuinness Funeral Home (Woodbury Location), 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096.

A second viewing will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at Holy Angels Parish at St, Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 86 Cooper Street, Woodbury, NJ.  Interment will follow at Eglington Cemetery in Clarksboro, NJ.
