Kimberly Sturgis
Dec 2, 1961 — Jun 27, 2026
Kimberly Marie Sturgis (nee Martinelli), 64, of Deptford, NJ, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
Kim was a remarkable woman—the kind of friend and neighbor everyone wished for. She was a natural caretaker who always stepped up to help others without being asked. Whether she was acting as a devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, or friend, she never saw her kindness as a chore.
She was incredibly talented and crafty, a passion she shared with her late mother, whom she loved dearly. She found joy in everything around her; decorating the house with her loving husband Chuck, tending to her many plants (she loved sharing clippings with others), feeding and caring for the countless animals that considered her home sanctuary. She was loving and mindful. Kim always took the time to remember birthdays and special moments; especially those we've lost over the years. No one was forgotten on her watch and she loved sharing the beautiful memories to remind the rest of us how truly special life is. Many of us will fondly remember her annual Christmas open house gatherings, where her "The more the merrier" spirit made everyone feel welcome. Being around family and friends brought her true happiness. Gone too soon. Loved Always and Forever. She will be missed but never forgotten.
She was the loving wife of 45 years to Charles "Chuck" Sturgis, Jr.; beloved mother of Charles "Little Chuckie" Sturgis III (Lori), Eric Sturgis, and Christopher Sturgis (Christine); cherished grandmother of Julianna, Charles IV, and Reynir; and dear sister to Richard, Dean, Mario Martinelli, and Dann’e Lynn Banker. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
We invite you to join us in honoring Kim’s life. A viewing will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the McGuinness Funeral Home, located at 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 7:30 PM.
Kim will be interred with her late mother during a private family committal at Manahath Cemetery in Glassboro.
