Margaret Brannigan
Apr 10, 1942 — Aug 22, 2026
Margaret Brannigan (nee Deery), 84, of West Deptford, New Jersey, passed away peacefully with her beloved family by her side on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
Legacy
Margaret was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she was the heart of her family and a force in the lives of those around her. She had a gift for making people feel seen and at ease. Her home was always open, and she took particular pride in creating a beautiful setting for the holidays. Spirited, generous, and deeply loyal, Margaret left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
During more than 30 years in the banking industry, Margaret built lasting relationships with coworkers and clients alike. She remained fiercely proud of her Belfast roots and cherished returning to Ireland with family and dear friends. Her Catholic faith was a defining part of her life, and she served as a Eucharistic Minister at Holy Angels Parish at St. Patrick’s Church in Woodbury. Margaret’s strength, devotion, humor, and presence shaped her family and will remain part of them for generations.
Family
She is the beloved wife of 63 wonderful years to Anthony Brannigan. Devoted mother of Gerard Brannigan (Valerie), Christine Droney (Timothy), and Sinead Brannigan-Dougherty (Gary). Treasured grandmother of Samantha (Izzy), Josephine (Matthew), Patrick (Nichole), Conor, and Kieran (Addison). Adored great grandmother of Maeve Margaret, Kate, and Timothy. Dear sister of Joseph Deery and Sean Deery (Marie). Predeceased by her parents Mary and Thomas Deery and siblings Frances Deery, Mary Quinn, Thomas Deery, Sarah Thompson, Gerard Deery, and Philomena Deery-Conroy.
