Ruth Virginia Knetz

Ruth Virginia Knetz (nee Stride), 96, of Oak Valley in Wenonah, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2026.

Legacy

Ruth was born and raised in Audubon, NJ. She attended Audubon HS and enjoyed traveling and participating in activities with the Audubon High School Alumni Class of 1948. She loved spending time at the beach and collecting. seashells. She enjoyed traveling, taking road trips, and spending time with family and friends, especially game nights and cookouts. She was well known for her baked apple cakes and pound cakes. Her beef barbeque was delicious, and the recipe has been passed down through the family. Ruth was an avid gardener, a very accomplished sewist, and she loved to crochet. Over the years she gifted many crocheted blankets to new babies in the family.

Family

She is the beloved wife of 70 years to the late William H. Knetz, Jr.; devoted mother of Diane Riley (Craig), Susan Zvolensky (John), William Knetz III (Alice); cherished grandmother of Colin Riley (Gina), Connor Riley (Jamie), Amanda Zvolensky (Daniel), and Robin Zvolensky; adored great grandmother of Eoin Riley and Tiernan Riley. Predeceased by her parents Ruth and Roy Stride. She will be greatly missed by several nieces, nephews and extended family.
