David Lorenc

Feb 26, 1960 — Oct 8, 2026

David Lorenc, born February 26, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on October 8, 2026, in Scottsdale, Arizona at the Vessel Loving Assisted Living Home while he was under Hospice care.

David lived a life marked by hard work, creativity, and a deep appreciation for the world around him. He attended school in Chicago and South Holland, Illinois, and carried with him the character and resilience shaped by those early years. During his life, David worked at two restaurants; Shackey’s Pizza and Fuddruckers. While working at Fuddruckers, he was able to travel around the United States and Canada being in charge of opening new restaurants. After several years, he decided to change his job and began working at Circle K until he retired in Jan. 2026.

Beyond his work, David was a man of many talents and passions. He built a log cabin, a lasting expression of both craftsmanship and vision. He loved reading and was proficient in photography. Music held a special place in his life, from opera and symphony to jazz and he also expressed himself through painting, creating many pieces of art and murals. He found joy in cooking, especially in making hot sauces and Polish pastries. He was fond of bandanas, tie dye, beading, musical theatre, gardening, nature, and astronomy, embracing both color and wonder in the way he moved through life. Those who knew David will remember a man who was kind, thoughtful, and generous, with a great sense of humor.

David is survived by his spouse, Michelle Lorenc, and by his step-son, Caleb. He is also survived by his sisters, Rose Lorenc and Gigi Lorenc, his brother in laws, Jubin Dana and Steve Stocker; by his nephew, Shamim Dana (Christi Kerr Dana); by his nieces, Sasha Dana, Gabrielle Tracz Evarola (Ramir Evarola), Michelle Stocker, and Melissa Stocker; by his great nephews Asher Evarola, Samuel Evarola, Adrien Dana and great niece Anna Hall. He is also survived by his Uncle Eugene Bialas, Family from Poland; Dariusz Klimas and his family and Romana Jaronski; and by cousins from the Gottardo, Bialas, and Nasuta families. He was preceded in death by his father, Edmund Lorenc; his mother, Rita Bialas; his sister, Diane Stocker and nephew Mischa Gandum Pak-Kun.

David's life was one of industry, artistry, curiosity, and heart. He will be remembered with love by those who knew him and will be deeply missed.
