Kenneth O Stapley

In the early morning hours of September 23, 2026, Kenneth O Stapley, 72, concluded his battle with heart disease. The second son of Cleo Mae (Shurtz) Stapley and James Paul Stapley (both preceded him in death) was born, raised, lived, and died in the Valley of the Sun. Ken’s oldest brother, James Paul Stapley Jr., also preceded him in death.

Ken is lovingly remembered by his wife, Jacque; their children Rachel, Charlotte, Tabatha (Ben), Bryce (Mary), Emily (Tom), Brent (Jessica), and Brian (Natalie), and grandchildren; Mabel, Zoe, Diego, Ava, Tanner, Chiyla, Shelby, Matthew, Jenna, Oaklee, Salem, Kita, and Draco. Along with his younger siblings William and Kathy (Mike).

Kenneth graduated from West Phoenix High School, and completed a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kentucky (which he spoke of fondly). He earned an associate’s degree in Network Administration from Mesa Community College. Ken was an entrepreneur and spent most of his life self-employed. He started and ran many businesses; among them were plumbing, jet ski rental, computers, and trucking.

The life of Kenneth was a life of experiences; in his way, he was an adventurer. He spent time as a race car driver, became a certified master diving instructor, and he water skied, snow skied, dirt biked, bowled, kayaked, golfed, and fished. He enjoyed serving in the Mesa Arizona Temple for 4 years. He also enjoyed sharing stories about his family’s heritage. Ken loved spending time in the water, seafood (especially crab legs), a good beach vacation, and his family (hopefully not in that order).

On October 2, 2026, Visitation will be at 9:00 am, services to follow at 10:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - 1852 N. Stapley Drive, Mesa, Arizona 85203.

Interment will take place at the Mesa Cemetery at 12:00 pm - 1212 N Center St, Mesa, AZ 85201.
