Laura Lovett Bruening

Laura Lovett Bruening (92) of Mesa, Arizona, died July 12, 2026. She was born December 19, 1934, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Austin and Dorothy Dalies Lovett. She graduated from Belen High School as Valedictorian in 1954. She attended the University of New Mexico and was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. While at college, she met her husband, James Bruening. They were married November 24, 1954, in Belen, New Mexico. They were married for 69 years. Laura worked outside the home as an office administrator and bank clerk. Her main interest was supporting her work in each church that they served. She served in the community through her involvement in P.E.O. Her family was the focus of her life. She is survived by her brother Dr. Bruce Lovett of Denver, Colorado, and three children, Linda (Dan) Reeves of Mesa, Arizona, Brian (Callie) Bruening of Lubbock, Texas, and Lisa (Kurt) Dorr of Little Elm, Texas. She had six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Her memorial service will be held Saturday, August 15, at 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 161 N. Mesa Drive, Mesa, AZ 85201. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to First Presbyterian Church.
