Lloyd David Lambertus
Oct 31, 1957 — Sep 28, 2026
David “Dave” Lambertus, 68, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away at home on September 28, 2026. He was born on October 31, 1957 in Gothenburg, Nebraska, to the late Lloyd and Barbara Lambertus, he grew up and made his home in Mesa.
Dave spent his career as a plasterer in Mesa before retiring last year. He possessed a boundless curiosity and an open mind, always drawn to the mysteries of the universe, spirituality, and a good conspiracy. He loved reading and could often be found sky-watching for UFOs, browsing the aisles at Bookmans to grow his library, or hunting for treasures at neighborhood garage sales. Well known for his garden, he also loved camping and was a hell of a fisherman—and though he had to step away from those trips in recent years, he always missed his time outdoors. Dave was a passionate cook and avid collector of recipes, menus, and cookbooks, who loved going out to eat with family and friends. Dave loved listening to vinyl records, and after a few beers, you could reliably catch him playing “Chicken Train Stomp” or anything by Leon Redbone. Above all, he cherished time spent with family and friends.
Dave is survived by his children: Rose Lilly and her husband Jake, Lance Lambertus, and Molly Lambertus and her husband Michael Boggs; his grandchildren: Alec Lilly, Glenn Lilly, Brant Lilly, Cadence Lilly, Paige Pruitt, Porter Boggs, and Lucy Day; and his great-grandchildren, Sofia and Dylan Flores Lilly. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Rhiann Lambertus; his brother, Danny; and his parents, Lloyd and Barbara.
In accordance with Dave’s wishes, formal services will not be held. A private cremation will take place, and his family and close friends will gather for a camping trip to celebrate his memory and return him to the outdoors he loved so much. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions toward cremation and other unexpected expenses. Contributions are entirely optional and can be sent via Venmo to @Rose-Lilly. Thank you for your kindness and support.
Above all, the family asks that you crack open a cold beer, put on a favorite record, and remember Dave with a smile.
