Nancy Ann Hansen

September 4, 1942 — June 3, 2026

Nancy Ann Adlard Hansen, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed from this mortal life on June 3, 2026, in Mesa, Arizona. Born on September 4, 1942, in Independence, Missouri, Nancy was the cherished daughter of John and Leah Ann Adlard, the second of three children.

Raised with grace and an exuberant spirit, Nancy graduated from Van Horn High School, where she distinguished herself as a member of the Synchronized Precision Swim Team. Her poise and charm were recognized early when she was crowned Miss Sugar Creek in high school. Nancy captivated both judges and peers alike with her radiant smile, generous heart, enthusiastic spirit, and remarkable musical talents.

In 1963, Nancy united in marriage with Richard Hansen in Logan, Utah. Early in their marriage, she supported Richard through his education and training to become a pilot by taking on office work. The couple shared memorable adventures, including a joyful visit to the World’s Fair in New York City. Together, they built a wonderful family, raising four children and delighting in the love of twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren.

Nancy and Richard embraced retirement with a zest for travel, exploring remarkable destinations such as Egypt, China, and Australia. Among their thrilling experiences was a flight aboard the supersonic Concorde from New York City to London and rafting the Colorado River through the awe-inspiring Grand Canyon. Nancy remained active and adventurous, riding on the back of Richard’s motorcycle and water skiing until the remarkable age of seventy-eight.

A woman of many talents, Nancy enriched her communities through her gift of music as a talented choir singer and pianist. Her dedication to faith was evident in the many callings she held within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Nancy’s warmth and service extended to her missions alongside Richard in Nauvoo and London, where she became affectionately known for her skill in cutting hair for those she served.

For more than three decades, Nancy and Richard made their home in Mesa, Arizona, where she was a steadfast friend and a beloved presence in the lives of many. Her kindness, generosity, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A viewing will be held on June 19, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints-Driftwood Ward, located at 1483 N Driftwood Dr, Gilbert, Arizona 85234.
