Franklin De Oliveira

It is with a heavy heart and great sorrow that we announce the passing of Franklin De Oliveira on September 9th, 2026. He was a resident of Monterey, CA. He was born in Graciosa, Azores. When he was six months old, his family moved to Terceira, where he was raised. That's where Franklin found a love for bullfighting, soccer, and golf. At age twenty-three, Franklin moved to California. Five years later, he found the love of his life, Madolyn, and they were together for 60 years. Frank and Madolyn opened the Lisbon Pub restaurant on Cannery Row in the late 60s, followed by the famous Captain's Cove seafood and Portuguese restaurant. Franklin made a commercial where he walked out of the ocean with Salmon, saying, "When I say fresh, I mean fresh" Franklin is survived by his wife, Madolyn, and was most proud of his son, Miguel, grandchildren Luke and Courtney, Rosemary Aiello, whom he thought of as his daughter and son Frankie Jr from Los Banos.  He will be missed by his many friends and his nephews and nieces.
